Replying to randy@linuxfromscratch.org:
Could you please do a quick build of Fortran using the GCC-4.1.2 version to ensure it works properly before updating the book?
Starting gcc now. Assuming the test suite passes, is that satisfactory to update the book, or is there a Fortran program you know of I should try to compile with the new compiler?

I'd think building without errors and anything decent on the test suite would be fine. Thanks, Robert.

gcc test results are identical to those on anduin. All gmp tests also pass, so I will go ahead with the update.

Because the GMP package was released in September 2007 and it is required to build the GCC-4.1.2 Fortran compiler (GCC was released in Februrary 2007) there is a chance that Fortran may not compile properly.
Could you please do a quick build of Fortran using the GCC-4.1.2 version to ensure it works properly before updating the book?
Thanks.
