smbd/nmbd won't start

Description

when I installed samba on my lfs 4 (samba 2.2.7, just like it was told in blfs), both smbd and nmbd showed "OK" during startup, but neither the processes appeared nor the ports in netstat.

smbd and nmbd won't start if /var/run/samba and /var/log/samba don't exist. it worked by creating them (please add this to the installation instructions)

as lfs4 deletes everything in /var/run during startup, you also have to add a "mkdir /var/run/samba" to the samba boot script.

after having done this, samba works fine for me (only tested with 2.2.7, don't know if this still happens with 2.2.7a)
