Uploaded a patch, this one is simple, and should work, and also has valid XML.

Please use the wi fixes patch, it includes the urw fonts fix, and:
- Update AFPL Ghostscript to GPL Ghostscript 8.63, and removed ESP Ghostscript.
- Update GSView to 4.9.
- Added Jasper to the book.

There are several problems with your patch.
- There are several fixes. Send one patch per fix and put each patch in the relevant ticket.
- Let the editors update the change log. Some things, like URL changes don't warrant a change log entry.
- We don't add a new download location to general.ent for every URL.
However, you are starting to get the idea.

You can seprate the patches, but, it will be tough, trust me.

OK.

I did that to save typing when using Ghostscript and Ghostscript-releated urls.
However, you are starting to get the idea.
Thank you for that.

WAIT A SECOND!!!!!!
Don't use this link:
ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/fonts/
Why? The version of URW fonts there is very old with a capital OLD!!!! (dating around 1998!!!!)
If I did the commit, I would use this link instead:
http://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/ghost/AFPL/GhostPCL/urwfonts-1.41.tar.bz2

http://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/ghost/AFPL/GhostPCL/urwfonts-1.41.tar.bz2
Why? Because it is more recent (from 2005), and is probaly better.
Redo the commit, with this link instead.

Your link didn't work for me.
BTW, don't tell me what to do. You get a lot further by asking.

Then why not this one?

Uh, the other commit STILL DID NOT FIX IT. Instead of this:
ftp://ftp.tug.ctan.org/pub/tex-archive/nonfree/support/ghostscript/AFPL/GhostPCL/
Please use this:
http://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/ghost/AFPL/GhostPCL/urwfonts-1.41.tar.bz2
Or this if it does not work for you:
http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/ghost/AFPL/GhostPCL/urwfonts-1.41.tar.bz2
Why? Because HTTP links are better than FTP.

Willim, as you may have noticed, the ticket is closed since 4 days (as of writing this). The link used with the last commit works well - if not for you, just check your system first before assuming that the link gets commited unverified. There is nothing wrong with FTP as it is basically the one which is used for file transfers, isn't it? If that does not work for you, it is your job to fix your system but it will never be the job of the book (or the books maintainers) to work around issues on readers side. Again, the link is fine and this ticket is closed - and will continue to be.
I have a link with the latest version of the URW fonts, I found it by Google.
