unlzma from xz utils should be abcle to uncompress it too. fyi, lzip is not new as it was around before xz utils (formerly lzma utils).

Thanks, libarchive can be included as optional, just for that, then, if we keep the package.

That appears to be a new compression format, lzip. Maybe we should be looking at dropping ed. No one that I know uses it. Looking at the most recent LSB, https://refspecs.linuxbase.org/LSB_4.1.0/LSB-Core-generic/LSB-Core-generic/toccommand.html, I don't see it.
After release, we need to review LSB 4.1 (Stable), and 5.0 (Beta) for compliance.
