New version with a fair few changes in NEWS, including the fix for 'usermod -a' which Greg reported.

Summary: shadow-4.0.18 → shadow-4.0.18.1

Now 4.0.18.1 which fixes a couple of problems when PAM is disabled.

Might want to hold off on 4.0.18.1. A big bug was discovered.

Thanks Dan. Looks like they could really use a 'make check' target and a decent regression test suite, doesn't it?

There are now 3 different patches that supposedly fix the problem that Dan pointed to. They are at ​http://zie.pg.gda.pl/mailman/pipermail/shadow/2006-August/000386.html, ​http://zie.pg.gda.pl/mailman/pipermail/shadow/2006-September/000393.html, and ​http://zie.pg.gda.pl/mailman/pipermail/shadow/2006-September/000395.html. As none of them have been applied upstream yet (according to ​http://cvsweb.pld.org.pl/shadow/src/useradd.c) we can't backport an official fix.
