New version looks good. We can now drop the "vsnprintf" patch as the fixes are now integrated. The makefile also now installs the man page so we can drop that. The problem with having own CFLAGS set and losing -fPIC is still there so the note must stay.

Also forgot to mention that "make check" is now an alias for "make test" so I changed it to the former as that one seems to be more politically correct in GNU world.
