Description
The issue someone on support had with odd test failures in coreutils, apparently solved by omitting the i18n patch, plus the assertion that Arch dropped the patch (they did, apparently in 2010!) caused my to check if fedora are still patching coreutils (they are), and if our patch matches what they are currently using - there is a small difference.
Their current version is at https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/coreutils/raw/rawhide/f/coreutils-i18n.patch and the recent history is at https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/coreutils/history/coreutils-i18n.patch?identifier=rawhide
The difference, on a quick look, seems to be from https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/coreutils/c/f3c6ff7e2cdc49208be8add4e51eec3c45767196?branch=rawhide which is described as 'improve handling of control characters in unexpand'.
I asked xry111 about this, he copied the list https://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/sympa/arc/lfs-dev/2023-03/msg00137.html so now I'm creating a ticket.

Let's do it on schedule later.

Summary: | Update coreutils i18n patch → Add coreutils i18n patch into currency script |
---|
We have #5232 now and the coreutils patch for 9.1 fails to apply onto 9.2.
So we need to update the patch when we update to 9.2 anyway, no need to use a separate ticket. Retitle this as a currency issue (we have no notification about coreutils patch update).

The new hunk is included in coreutils-9.2 i18n patch. I cannot find an API providing the currency of the i18n patch.
Taking the tickets as I'll add flit-core for wheel-0.40.0, and do other updates by the way.
