I was under the impression that all the modular X components of Xorg-7.x would be treated as a 'unit', and updated together when there is an update to the Xorg-7.x version.

Has a decision been made to abandon that idea, and treat all the components separately?

That's fine, but xterm is developed independently of Xorg now.

If it is developed outside the Xorg realm, it should be listed elsewhere. That was suggested before, and it was determined to leave it with the Xorg grouping.

Perhaps that decision should be revisited and the xterm package should be moved to a different section of the book.

As noted in #2120, I'm moving xterm as well as a few others out of the Xorg-7 chapter. Them main motiviation was that xterm-214 and xterm-215 contain a fix for a security vulnerability. See #2100.
