Description
Hello, I have Debian 3.0 and while i was trying to compile the binutils package, using the command: [ make LDFLAGS="-all-static" ] i got error. After i tried using the [ make CC="gcc -static -s" ] command and i found it succesful. I'm using gcc 3.3.1. I hope you can find the problem. Bye.

Tush, please don't encourage people to post support requests in bugzilla by responding to them. As you rightly point out though this is an FAQ so marking this one as invalid.

Were you trying to install binutils-2.14? LFS-4.1 installs binutils-2.13.
